Privacy policy
Information pursuant to Article 13 GDPR. This English text is a courtesy translation — the German version is the authoritative one.
Controller
The person named in the legal notice is responsible for the processing of personal data on this website. No data protection officer has been appointed; the statutory conditions for that do not apply to this site.
Visiting the site (server log files)
Each time the site is opened, your browser transmits technically necessary data to the server: IP address, date and time, the file requested, the amount of data transferred, the HTTP status code, the referring page and details about your browser and operating system. This data is needed to deliver the page and to keep operation stable and secure. The legal basis is legitimate interest under Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR. No analysis of individual visitor behaviour takes place and the data is not combined with other sources.
Hosting
The site is hosted by a web host in Germany, which processes the log data described above on our behalf. A data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR is in place. Log data is stored there only briefly and deleted regularly; the target is no more than seven days.
Download counter
In the download area we count how often a package is fetched. Counting happens once per visitor per day, not per click. To do that, your IP address is combined with the file name and a secret daily key into a check value; only this shortened check value is stored, never the IP address itself. The daily key is regenerated every day and deleted together with the day’s list after two days at the latest — after that nobody can be recognised from the data. What remains permanently are totals without any personal reference. The purpose is to know how heavily each tool is used; the legal basis is Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Nothing is stored on or read from your device, so consent under Section 25 TDDDG is not required. The counter values are fetched from our own server; no third party is involved.
Contact by email
If you write to us, we process your email address and the content of your message in order to answer it. The legal basis is Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR, or Article 6 (1) (b) GDPR where the enquiry concerns a contract. Messages are deleted once they are no longer needed and no retention obligations apply.
What this site does not do
This site sets no cookies and stores nothing in browser storage. It embeds no fonts, maps, videos, analytics tools, ad networks or social media widgets from third-party servers. All images, fonts and scripts come from the same server as the page. No consent banner is therefore required. There is no automated decision-making and no profiling.
Your rights
You have the right to obtain information about the data stored about you (Article 15), to have it corrected (Article 16) or erased (Article 17), to restrict processing (Article 18) and to data portability (Article 20 GDPR). You may object under Article 21 GDPR to processing based on legitimate interest. An informal message to the address given in the legal notice is enough for any of these.
For the download counter, access requests cannot be answered technically: without a stored IP address, no entry can be linked to a person (Article 11 GDPR).
Right to lodge a complaint
You can lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority here is the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
Changes
This policy is updated whenever the site or the legal situation changes. The version published here at the time applies.
